Having worked with international brands like Tommy Hilfiger, Sowmya Parameshwaran is no amateur when it comes to fashion. What makes her a veteran however, is not only her experience in the industry but also her dedication to use those very skills for the good of the planet. Her plant - based fashion brand Hibiscus Heroes  started its work in full swing in 2019 and Sowmya has never looked back ever since. All her pieces are made from chemical free plant and flower dyes, a choice she believes helps her tread lightly on the planet she lives in. Gathering most of her knowledge from India’s ancient tradition of using plant-based dyes, she is very cautious of the way each step in production takes a toll on the environment. From the materials used to the final stage of waste management, Sowmya ensures that pollution of any kind is down to a minimum. This connection she maintains with her surroundings and nature is what drives her to keep moving. She believes that one cannot build a product without purpose and in this case her purpose is crystal clear; helping people should also mean helping the earth.
