In his recent bronze works, Mark delves more deeply into the transformative power of art. These sculptures portray women and men moving within the rhythms of everyday life (Prosaic series), as well as performers immersed in the discipline of practice (Rehearsal series). Stylised and graceful, the works at first evoke a quiet sense of wonder—revealing the extraordinary that lies beneath the surface of the ordinary.

Seen more reflectively, the actions depicted across both series are repetitive in nature. Like any act performed with consistency and awareness, they possess the capacity to bring body and mind into alignment. Mark thus views daily labour and artistic practice as parallel paths, each capable of leading toward the same state of balance and harmony. Through this perspective, and by placing art within the frame of everyday life and the everyday within art, Mark gently democratizes the idea of art—allowing it to inhabit lived experience as naturally as breath.
